Slappie 9 #4 June 1, 2007 Do you Europeans actually keep track and watch this race? I don't think there is even any coverage in the States. Louis Vuitton : New Zealand and Italy still have boats. And after that the only thing American is the name of the Cup . Oracle (biggest budget) was sacked by Luna Rossa. Switzerland will race the winner. NZ 12 seconds ahead at the first mark.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

piisfish 140 #7 June 1, 2007 No, they are the sponsors of the Louis Vuitton Cup which is the selection of the challenger for the America's Cup. Actually all boats are not "countries" but "syndicates" sponsored generally by big companies: USA : Oracle New Zealand : Emirates Airlines Italy : Luna Rossa = Prada Switzerland : Alinghi is th eboat of E. piisfish 140 #13 June 5, 2007 NewZealand-3 ... Luna Rossa-0 Kiwis on their way for 4-0 Thought it would have been more balanced in the scores. Level is close but always to a NZL advantage ... Good for them, I prefer to see them winning rather than breaking the boat.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
bigway 4 #14 June 5, 2007 Tight races. The last cup challenge was a disaster that we nearly did not put a team in this time around. We needed a sponsor with enough money, seems we got it. The americas cup is a huge event in New Zealand and one of the proudest moments to be a kiwi. Until we bring the world cup home in rugby. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . piisfish 140 #20 June 6, 2007 Quote Nah... I think the only had 13 Kiwis on their crew last time Quote The first thing that comes to mind, when studying the respective crew lists for the Louis Vuitton Cup is just how nationalistic the Emirates Team New Zealand squad is, with 15 out of 17 Kiwi sailors, and only two or three Americans on board. Luna Rossa Challenge on the other hand, has gone from being the ‘national’ Italian team in previous editions of the Cup, to a more international line-up for the 32nd America’s Cup - only 6 or 7 Italians are racing, joined by American, Kiwi, Danish, Brazilian, Swedish, English and Australian sailors. from www.americascup.com/en/acmag/features/teams_countries/index.php?idIndex=1255&idContent=24566 "Alinghi" Quote The team is based in Switzerland and is proud to say that it is made up of 21 different nationalities. from www.alinghi.com/en/alinghi/story/index.phpscissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
bigway 4 #21 June 6, 2007 I tell you what... It is moments like these that makes one very proud to be a kiwi. The last Americas cup celebration parade (when we first bought it back) was one hell of a day. I will be flying home for the parade if we were lucky enough to bring the cup back. It is on Par with the rugby as far as I am concerned. I wish i could find a photo of everyone hanging out office windows drinking champagne and tika tape covering the streets to the height of peoples knees. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
