The user name is new but that does not allow you to start arguing with them accusing them of being trolls, besides the poster isn't posting from ASC anyways. I see this as a demo that went poorly. Breaking telephone junction boxes when you fly into them is not good for the public's view of skydiving. It does not matter if these jumpers are active military, retired military or just some schmoe off the street, anyone that flies into objects on a demo usually should consider that to be luck that no one got hurt. There have been a lot of payouts on the insurance in the last few years due to people causing damage like this on demos or even worse, harming someone in the crowd. I'd rather not see the insurace jump skyhigh since someone tried to do a demo that it seems might have been borderline for them due to conditions or their abilities and ends up flying into something expensive or even worse into someone else. How does it reflect on the sport ? What are your max wind limits for Tandems at your DZ? We've seen all the fun jumpers at your DZ sitting on the ground due to the high winds then you show up walk into the office and the tandems start jumping w/o a change in winds. In case you don't remember who I am I'm the guy who flew to your DZ from the opposite end of the country for the "easter boogie (that wasn't) because jumping at Z hill used to be known for its walk up loads and fun jumps. You know the ones with 2 load organizers, one for each experience level Well that was in the old days. When we were there you only had one LO. Steve Lapp one of the nicest guy's i ever met. We found ourself, and another jumper with 6k jumps getting bumped from a 8 way (told to manifest a three way) so a 75 jump wonder would have someone to jump with, and he wouldn't be able to screw up the load for the other 7 jumpers. Next time have one of your LO's jump with the low timer or ask us first & pay for our jump ticket. That was some funny shit when we didn't manifest for the three way and the PA kept on calling for "three more jumpers" to fill up the load so the plane could TO. To bad the plane had to sit on the plane for a hr while the PA kept on asking for "three more jumpers" Did I whine to you about what happened? Hell no we knew your attitude so we just saved our money and breath and watched the show "We need three more jumpers". Don't like to hear me bitching, and don't want me to come back to your DZ. Guess what we made that decision after the way we were treated like any unhappy customer would and will never go back. The sport has changed Tandems and Aff are where the moneys at. If we don't like the second class treatment we recieve as fun jumpers we don't have to jump. So I haven't jumped for the last 6 yr's. Did I miss jumping for 6 yr's? some but I also saved myself 12-15K. But know I'm ready to get my knees in the breeze rejoined uspa etc. And I'm still LOL every time I think about manifest asking for three more jumpers to fill the load while theres a 5 way standing around suited up in 80+ heat. I also used to be on the first load of the day during our stay at Z-hills since we were camping at the DZ. after the way we were we treated by being drafted as a unpaid LO. We just boycotted the first load and took a nice walk listening to manifest call for "one more jumper to manifest so the otter could take off". A demo gone bad hurting the sport? maybe for the DZ's money tree (I'm a fun jumper not a future tandem/aff)but IMO Some DZO's are hurting the sport by chasing the big money and cutting back on service's for the fun jumpers. USPA numbers are down? Ever think it's because the poor service the fun jumpers recieve at some DZ's beause the DZO is fixated on the AFF & Tandem money tree? Do the student factories/group member DZ's care? As long as there are enough TM's, video, and AFF JM why should they.PA? I don't think so, troll? don't think so just the facts I know because I was there. OTOH the jump with Johhny gates and the muff bro's was a blast We were on some hot dives on the weekends when there were enough folks around that had the right stuff that didn't require a staff LO.R.I.P.
