quade 4 #3 June 8, 2007 QuoteHmmm... sometimes I think it really is blah I lost it http://www.findyourfate.com/astrology/astrology.htm I have a love/hate relationship with Astrology. It was one of the first "sciences" in that it cateloged and tracked the movements of the planets thorugh the stars, so ya gotta give it a lot of credit for advancing how well humans could measure things and coming up with the first theories of how the solar system worked. The hate part is the human inability to let go of the mysticism. Holy poo, what a scam and people still "believe" in it.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #5 June 8, 2007 QuoteYou know sometimes I think it is hogwash, and some times I think it is right on The human mind -wants- to find order in chaos. It -wants- to make sense out of the senseless. If I tell you 10 things I say are "facts" about you, make them generic statements that could be true of anyone and a few of them "hit", you will be highly susceptible to the idea that I actually know something about you and your future. This is how palm reading, astrology and any one of a number of other fortune telling and mentalist "tricks" work.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
sartre 0 #6 June 8, 2007 At risk of starting an argument (ooh, shock!) I will say that I don't believe so much in astrology, but after some very interesting experiences, I have begun to believe that some people do have an ability to see things that not everyone sees. I think it's cool as hell. I also think there are a lot of people out there claiming to be able to do things that they really cannot.

mark 107 #9 June 8, 2007 Quote I guess you've never heard of Edgar Cayce? I travelled with him on the astral plane to Atlantis and gazed upon the Tuaoi Stone. Cayce was a fantastic prophet, a seer of the future. Some of the things he predicted were simply amazing. For example, in 1958, the US discovered the death ray used on Atlantis. Also, in 1968 all of China converted to Christianity. Who wants to know more, and who wants simply to believe? Mark
