Freefly710 0 #1 June 12, 2007 I just spent three hours arguing with a teacher over a grade from the spring semester. He swears i made a C in the class, but low and behold, I made over a 90 on every test and quiz! What an ass!!! I have a 3.9 grade point average, so this "C" would kill my gpa! I have a meeting with the Dean of engineering tomorrow, so maybe he can help me straighten this out.. Sorry...just had to vent. Anybody else had any horrible experiences like this in college?? Freefly710 0 #4 June 12, 2007 i took every test and quiz in his office and showed him. his response was.."well i grade on a bell curve and you fell into the C range." that would imply that EVERYBODY in the class made a grade over a 90, but looking at the class statistics, the mean grade was a 67 with a standard deviation of over 20. hes full of shit, and my gpa and graduating with honors could suffer from it..... TheAnvil 0 #5 June 12, 2007 Maybe he graded on a curve and you were average...unlikely, but possible. If the average was that high, then he was doing a shitty job making tests. Andrewwhyte 1 #6 June 12, 2007 Yep. i had a class like that once. I went into the final with an A+ and came out with a B. turned out the sessional instructor had a problem with his marks being too high and was told he wouldn't be teaching there unless he lowered them.
