I know you are talking about the pictures and don't worry because unlike Paris Hilton I would never share these intimate timesHowever since I hijacked your thread I will attempt to get it back on track. Please post up some good advice concerning this computer issue so Skymama stays happy. skymama 37 #27 June 8, 2007 Nah, I already checked the battery recall when the information came out. I have an identical laptop bought at the same time that is working. I'm going to switch out the batteries so I can at least rule that out. Taking it out and putting it back in didn't do squat. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
SuperKat 0 #28 June 8, 2007 Unfortunately, computer problems cannot be diagnosed that easily. When you try to boot up the laptop, does the hard drive led light up? Do you hear the hard drive running? Do you hear the laptop fan running? What color is the monitor's led light? Amber, green or is it off? There could be many different things that may have gone defective with your lappie: 1. Laptop batteries do go defective after a while, whether you run the computer regularly or not. However, a laptop does not need to run on batteries. You can take the battery out but plug in the AC adaptor. It should boot up. 2. Another reason your laptop might not be reaching the post screen is because you may have a defective memory chip. It may even have been ejected from its slot too, that is if you might have dropped it. I'll stop right there because I can just go on and on. If you'd like you can send your laptop to me and I can see first hand what the problem may be. It's up to you. PM me if you want me to look at it. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

skymama 37 #31 June 12, 2007 I fixed it! The battery switch-out didn't work. I remembered one time last year that it stopped working when my dad dropped it and Dell walked me through removing the hard drive and putting it back in. I tried it on a lark and it worked!
