Does really spicy (hot) food give you a Buzz?

Recommended Posts

really hot Mexican food gives me a really nice morphine-like buzz that lasts .5 hr or so. Supposed to be an endorphin related response, but no one I know experiences it. What about you?

The effect must be pretty rare because I have never met anyone else who notices it.

For me it doesn't really seem to be associated with stuff that is hot enough to cause pain, which supposedly triggers endorphins. The right kind or combination of peppers seems to work. Never had it happen with Wasabi, but I'll try!

The big test will be tomorrow if I can find some of that snortable pepper extract! Might be mailorder only, but there's a granola/tie dye food store nearby that should have it.

I cook with dried habeneros for a reason.

If there is no heat, it's not fit to eat!
