gofast_ER 0 #1 June 18, 2007 Ok so I know I don't know most of you people here but I need to vent. I was almost home. Saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I had just purchased a new (used) saber 150. I have my order form filled out and ready to mail for my new rig. Everything was looking great. What do I wake up to this morning? A 3 month extension. Sure 3 months may not sound all that long but out here it sure feels like a freakin life time. I may not agree with what you have to say but i'll defend to the death your right to say it. Gawain 0 #3 June 18, 2007 How long have you been there now? Either way, can you really say that you're surprised? Meanwhile, if I may be allowed to make some lemonade for you, if you're past twelve months, please make sure you get that extended-pay (or whatever it's called) and your return home will be all the sweeter. Keep it up! Keep doing good! We want you home too, but do not underestimate the importance of your presence and actions there. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! gofast_ER 0 #4 June 18, 2007 exactly 9 months and 1 day. Was really looking forward to going home. I guess I'll just set the order form aside until it gets closer to the time I actually will go home. As for the extra pay. I hear they are extending so many of us they just can't afford to give us the extra thousand a month. Oh well.I may not agree with what you have to say but i'll defend to the death your right to say it.
hobie331 0 #5 June 18, 2007 Go ahead and send the order. Very seldom have I heard a jumper say, " wow, my new rig(canopy, jumpsuit, etc) arrived exactly when they said it would." Seems like all custom stuff is 6-12 weeks behind schedule. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
DSE 5 #6 June 18, 2007 Skydivers believe in Santa Claus and delivery dates. Both are useless ideals. I ordered my rig in January. Still don't have.Ordered my canopy in November, modified the order in March. It came last week.

jojo69 0 #9 June 19, 2007 First - THANK YOU - you are doing a job that needs doing and thank God you are willing and able to do so. Second - go ahead and order your gear. When you get home, your gear will be waiting for you and you will have the joy of jumping your stuff instead of waiting for it to arrive. Again, thank you for all you do.
