Asshole on the highway today

There's a lot of traffic babies/whiners after the initial fun bit of this thread.

road 'rage' is a stupid expression. 'rage' tends to indicate some sense of righteousness - which is complete bull, there is not righteousness whatsoever, just self serving crap.

Road "tantrum" is more appropriate. It's just driving... cowards appreciate the anonymity of it and get into confrontations and pissing contests. Most posts on this subject are impotent posing.

4. Don't cut in front of someone and then drive slowly
5. Don't be an a$$hole
6. etc etc...

...

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

"rage" comes from outrage - outrage can stem from being wronged or seeing wrongness - "righteous outrage" - I don't think an oblivious cutoff as being wronged any more than a child being "outraged" because they didn't get to stand in line first at the ice cream truck. I'll stand by my connotation

I still think "tantrum" explains better what really going on and puts these drivers in the appropriate bucket.

When I saw that you had replied to me in this thread, I was certain that it was going to have something to do with roundabouts. Guess I was wrong.

But yeah, "don't be an asshole" is good advice in any situation. Unfortunately, we all have different defintions of "asshole."

Yes them is good rules. The only problem I have is if in fact your driving down a two lane road and you go to pass some folk in the fast lane. Well you pass them and continue on until some prick pulls up on your bumper-so you go to the slow inner lane to let him pass and doing so you initiate turn signal >right to get back in slow lane. Well, he/she decides to past you in slow lane right after you go to move over. Thats just Bullshit. Driving is a privilege not a right. Me 2 cents.

What if I'm in the right lane by myself and some dude's in the left lane going 10 mph slower? I'm just going to pass him in the right lane.

If I'm in the left lane and one car's in front of me and I'm closing fast, I'm not going to waste my brakes or step off the gas if the right lane is all clear, just zoom around...

I've seen people I was right behind come up on slow traffic and seem intent on making the slow driver move over, the slow driver didn't, and the right lane was clear, so I passed them both. Certainly pissed off the driver I was behind...

No problem there if the car is moving rather slowly in the passing fast lane etc. Its just I always try and use the left lane as a passing fast lane only. I just hate it when you do pass and some ones on your ass all of a sudden and wont let you get back to slow lane to let them go past me. Even if you signal your intention and they are going so fast they don't give a damn.

I agree... If I'm starting to make a move to the right to pass, and the car in front of me signals, I back off and wait for them to move...

If no such signal or intent is shown, screw 'em....

Me too.

I encounter people every day that feel they are entitled to drive in that left lane as slow and for as long as they want (usually from Marshall County, MS). Of course these are the same tards that won't move over for an ambulance either. I'm guessing they don't know who to read a speedometer. They can go 30, 40, 50, but can't go 35, 45, or 55. Very bizarre.

Now refer to the left lane as the entitlement lane.
