souleh 0 #7 June 25, 2007 I'd stick with Canon precisely because I don't have bundles of money. Sure, you can get a great Nikon body for less than a good Canon, but the lenses are $£++! 'buttplugs? where?' - geno
Icon134 0 #8 June 25, 2007 Quote Looking at buying a nikon and lense for macro, etc. Any suggestions? sure... I guess I would start off by asking why you are planning to buy a Nikon dSLR instead of a Canon (not for any other reason then curiousity...) as for a macro lens: I really like my Tamron 90mm Macro lens... (I started a thread a few weeks ago where i posted a number of my pictures. The tamron is a good lens though I use a Canon... so I can't really offer too much advice about Nikon lenses... and a good prosumer Canon dSLR is the Rebel XTi (400d).Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... woodpecker 0 #9 June 25, 2007 Only reason I chose nikon is all the camera guru's I work with use them. I have no issues with using a canon though is someone can recomend a good one and saving money is always great. So, what model and what lense? We had a great walk yesterday (6hrs) and took a drive into Italy through the MB tunnel today. CLimbing tomorrow, if it stops raining long enough. (.)Y(.) I edited my above post to suggest Canon dSLR camera and when I look for lenses (i.e. reviews, etc) I go to two places... http://www.fredmiranda.com/ and http://www.photographyreview.com/ though it looks as if photographyreview.com is down at the moment... also: http://www.dpreview.com/ has some good info on digital cameras...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... Woody how much experience with photography do you have? how much Macro experience do you have? what sort of photography do you plan on doing mostly? answers to those three questions would influence the advice i would give in relation to macro. you can get diopter lenses lens reversers Macro Zoom & dedicated macro prime lenses All cost a different ammount but in the right hands all do a decent job, (depending on subject)You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS!
