Where Have You Always Wanted to Go?

Recommended Posts

I have been to Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Netherlands, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, China, Cambodia, Thailand, VietNam, Laos, Mexico, Canada, Morocco, Mauritania and Panama. Planning a trip to Syria and Lebanon (maybe Yemen) this year.
Still haven't even scratched the surface as to the places I want to visit...

As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

More specifically, what would you do that would expand your mind? That sounds like something I'd do in the library

Travel expands your mind by -

- taking you out of your comfort zone, forcing you to adapt to whatever comes along
- exposing you to different cultures (food, music, daily life)
- allowing you to experience places of awesome beauty and/or historical significance
- meeting people who are completely different than you are... and realizing that they really aren't all that different from you after all

You can't get any of that out of a book or a video.

It would just be sad to experience new and wonderful things and have no one to share it with. That's why I've never been to Disneyland.

Disneyland or Disney World? I'm thinking we should do a skydiver outing in Disneyland (that's the one in CA). I've been wanting to get back there ever since I moved to CA.

Disneyland in CA... That's the one that was featured on The Wonderful World of Disney. Disney World wasn't even in existence then. Oops... am I dating myself? :D

Now going to Disneyland with a group of skydivers sounds like a blast! Do they have bumpercars? I'm wicked on bumpercars. >:(

...I've always wanted to become the proverbial crystallographic ant so that I could visit all the various minerals crystal lattices. I especially long to visit the clinopyroxene lattice as the mineral fascinates me.

Just think of walking around all those atoms and bonds; mirror planes stretching here and there...

You've been there...it's called The House of Mirrors.
:D:D:P
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

well sort of - when I volunteered at the Museum of Science in Boston, I spent sunday mornings walking around the rocks, crystals and dinosaur exhibits talking to the kids (they were on my level anyway :D) and one of the most fascinating things there (for me anyway) was a diamond made of mirrors with a cube of lights in the center. It literally looked like it when forever in each direction. I spent hours - HOURS staring into oit. Of course is wasn't the clinopyroxene lattice but it was a good representation of a zircon lattice. :)

hmmm, I used to YEARN for Ireland. Now that I've been there, not so much anymore.

Now, I'm fascinated by the Middle East - but afraid to go with all the turmoil.

Currently working on a 2 year plan to go to Greece / Italy for at least a month and sail around the islands.

If I had my druthers I'd be living in New Zealand.

When I was growing up, I always wanted to visit Australia because I adored Koala Bears. Now grown, I don't have quite the attachment for the stinky little creatures, but I wouldn't turn down a chance to visit the country. ;)

Of course, I haven't been to Disney since I was about twelve (we're not going to discuss my current age). I could be persuaded to go there in the meantime! :):D

I have a bright, shiny new passport (My first one). I'm dying to go SOMEWHERE, since I've never been outside the country. :$
