GQ_jumper 4 #1 June 27, 2007 I'm going to be in the market for a new car as soon as I get home in a few months and I'm looking for a few more to compare. i'm basically looking for a well priced coupe, 2 or 4 door doesn't matter, just want something that's going to last me for a long time. I decided to turn down my big re-enlistment bonus which was going to give me enough to buy something sexy, so now I'm thinking something like a Civic, or a Scion, you know all those cheap little cars taht college stuents buy that seem to last forever no matter how bad they take care of them, I want one of those If anyone has any ideas for what else I should add to the list please throw em my way, it would be greatly appreciated. Remster 30 #3 June 27, 2007 RSX if you want a sporty hatch. We have a Integra, its 10 years old, and havent had any major issues.Remster
Thanatos340 1 #4 June 27, 2007 I am a big fan of Hondas and Toyotas. A Good car that will last. For a coupe I would look at the Accord Coupe V6. 244HP, Good Mileage, Sporty, All the creature comforts standard, Good resale value and alot of Bang for the Buck. simplyputsi 0 #5 June 27, 2007 I have to agree with J here. I am particular to the new lexus is 250 and 350 though. There is just something about those two cars. They might be a tad more than a honda accord v6 though. I don't like the new civics, but lots do.Skymama's #2 stalker -
Remster 30 #6 June 27, 2007 Well, I just noticed that Accura doesnt make the rsx anymore. Stilla good used option. And the IS350? I thought GQ wanted something not too expensive! lol... That car will be $40K by the time you add a few options! Its $35k base....Remster
simplyputsi 0 #7 June 27, 2007 yeah the 350 is spensive, but it's noice!!!!! and umm remy they don't make the integra anymore either, i think the rsx was it's replacement. I'm hoping to maybe get lucky and find a nice used 350 in a year or two. We'll see.Skymama's #2 stalker -

If they still made it, people would still buy it.Skymama's #2 stalker -

Among other Hondas, I have an '02 Accord. I find the Honda 4 cyl engines do very well with no lack of power and you don't give up anything in terms of smoothness. V6 engines are very cramped under the hood, weigh more (handle worse) and are more expensive to maintain. The new generation of Accord is due out this fall, which means really good deals are available now. I like the exterior and interior of of the '98 - '02 generation Accord much more than the current generation. The current Civic is fantastic, I actually like it more than the current Accord, which has never been the case previously.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Quote The RX8 is a coupe and it has 4 doors(technically)quit pickin on me I can't think straight right now, I'm in the middle of cutting weight for a submission fighting tournament so I'm dehydrated, starved, and cranky, 25 pounds in 2.5 weeks kinda drains yaThanks for the replies everyone, theres a few you all listed that I hadn't thought about yet. I'll be getting back shortly after the 08's hit the market so I'm hoping to catch a deal on an 07. take care everyone dan History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. V6 engines are very cramped under the hood, weigh more (handle worse) and are more expensive to maintain. I currently have the 02 Accord EX V6 Coupe (Bought it in 02 with 8K miles on it). I love the extra HP and it handles like a dream, No extra maintence costs so far other than 2 extra Spark Plugs with almost 100K on it. As for room under the hood... Its a Honda, You dont ever need to open the hood. Quote I like the exterior and interior of of the '98 - '02 generation Accord much more than the current generation. Agreed. Quote The current Civic is fantastic, I actually like it more than the current Accord Accord still has more creature comforts and holds resale better than the Civic (Although the civic is a great Car.) sundevil777 102 #15 June 27, 2007 If you have almost 100K miles on it, then you should be having to pay extra for the timing belt service, which is more expensive for the 6 cylinder. The rear styling is really nice for the previous generation Accord coupes - meant to emulate the Acura NSX, especially the taillights. For GQjumper and others, here's some spy pics of the '08 Accord coupe and sedan. http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=689703 I can't stand the way the way the exterior stylists want to have the upper/outer corners of head and taillights extend around to a sharp corner. The front end looks bulbous (that's supposed to make it look high class), and some of the lines just seem to not be right, oh well...still like the '98 to '02 generation Accord the best. It is really sad for Honda they now have 2 generations of Accord that have gone down hill in terms of styling.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired.
