masterrig 1 #27 August 7, 2006 QuoteQuoteI'm not a chemist and have not recently, slept at a Holiday Inn Express. I do have a question. Isn't acetone used in some paint removers and wood re-finishing compounds? I'd known it best as nail polish remover. It's a powerful solvent for lots of stuff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acetone I might test it some day if I can get some spare cable, but for cleaning my cables I'm taking the advice here and on other threads. _______________________________ I think, I'd be a little nervous about using something with acetone on a type of plastic. JerryBaumchen 1,446 #28 August 7, 2006 Hi rigger john, sparky, et al, Not trying to be harsh here but you need to better state your responses: In TSO C23b it is still 22 lbs. Lots of old chest packs still floating around were TSO'd back then and that req'ment still stands. As I have mentioned here before, one should clarify any response regarding TSO req'ments by referring to which version of the TSO the req'ment is in. By not doing so, it really (IMO) confuses those who do not know and read stuff here trying to learn. Just trying to be clear here, Jerry

However as I have said several times in this and other forums not all Riggers who post here work to the TSO requirments. In the UK the BPA operations manual says 15 lbs max pull force for front mount reserves. I work to the BPA requirments and that is the BPA's rule. Just goes to show Nullius in Verba,. . . (Take no ones word for it) That said you are right I should have said 15 Lbs in the UK._________________________________________ Nullius in Verba

Jerry, You are right; the 15 lb. pull for chest mount did not appear until TSO-C23c to affect. I keep forgetting that there are still some people alive that were around went TSO-C23b was the rule.
