Your cable company was granted a monopoly by the local government, and monopolies can do whatever they want. Satellite is often an option if you don't like those schmucks. Gawain 0 #8 June 30, 2007 If you're in a Verizon local telco area, contact them and find out if they're offering FiOS in your neighborhood. That'll give you phone, crazy-fast (fiber) internet and TV if licensed in the area.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Verizon is only authorized on the West Coast of FL, i.e. the Tampa Area; those of us in the other parts of FL will have to wait for AT&T's U-Verse to become available. VRADs are being installed in the Miami area and there are rumors that the Orlando/Daytona area will be next. Don't worry about the storm interference on a dish in FL. I had DISH when we moved into the house and the outages were not all that common or long; I went to DIRECTV this March and have had only 2 so far for a total of 20 minutes. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
