TSA background checks???

Recommended Posts

Really depends on what entity is doing the background check. The DOJ does it for contractors and realtors, and with me it took 5 weeks. My wife on the other hand had to go through a "check by name" since her fingerprints would not register on the livescan...it would score her between 0 and 10 out of 100! Her check took 3 months.

Since the airport authority is a state run organization, I would assume the state is doing the check....

well, the California State Licensing Board, and the Board of Cal Realitors required a FBI and DOJ check...

I think the TSA would be the same?

It took them awhile, 5 or 6 weeks, EVERYONE you listed on your application may get up to two calls. Also they verify everything on the app which isnt like most employers.

Whats worse is when you finally get through the whole process and then you start and they lay off the 25 newest employees within a week of starting.
Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this

Your profile says "Occupation - dumbass"

In my experience, you will fit in with TSA very nicely.

Hey man, one of those systems you are talking about is the one that I am overhauling....the State of Florida Dept of Law Enforcement Fingerprint and criminal history databases. It ties into the FBI NCIC database and other systems too. Usually they check the state files, then send it along to Feds.

Our team had to get background checks and it took a month to pass the PRELIMINARY check...

yeah, the latest motorola stuff...
we just saw Oceans Thirteen, and they had an example of automated fingerprint matching screens, minutia and all....minutia are focal points on the print that get scanned and searched....the more points that match the better the identification 'HIT'.

each fingerprint file has ten lines for amputations....how much of each finger is missing from the scan:S

there's another table for Scars Marks and Tattoos, pages and pages of descriptions of all the types and places they can be.....needs to be updated for Piercings though (serious!) which weren't so common when the codes were last written.

yeah, its fascinating being in the inside of the machine!

Took me over a year to get my clearance. It is the goverment after all. They need for it to sit on their desk long enough for it to become some one elses problem before they can do anything about it
