LisaH 0 #2 July 8, 2007 QuoteI'm looking to buy one. Any suggestions on a good bed? I bought a great one at REI made by Coleman. Comes with the pump to inflate it and folds up nicely into the bag it comes with so you can take it anywhere.Be yourself! MooOOooOoo

I've got a Coleman and I like it but am going to throw it out because somehow it got a slow leak in it (maybe from my cat clawing it) and I can't find the leak! I'm sure they're all fine for sleeping at the DZ or for having a friend conk out on the floor. Walt

I stayed in a hotel last month that had one of the Sleep Number Beds in it. HATED it. It felt like you were sleeping on an air mattress with a foamie on top. But some people on the trip with me liked it. If you're thinking about buying one of them, find a hotel in the area that has them and stay a few nights first (I was a in a Radisson in Ontario so check your local Radisson's). They're not all the commercials make them out to be. To me, they're just a "fluffy" air mattress.'Shell
ryoder 1,590 #18 July 8, 2007 Quote Not looking for one that will be taken camping. Looking for one that'll work as a temporary bed. I've been sleeping on airbeds for 16 years. The mattress is disposable. I've had a $50 mattress last as long as 7 years, and I've had a $300 Aerobed last only 18 months. The multi-chamber mattresses are a useless gimmick. Typically, the cheap queen-size mattresses last 2-3 years. The folding bedframes suck because the support points result in high and low spots under the mattress that poke you in the ribs if you let the mattress pressure get low, and make rolling over a chore because you must roll "up hill" to get over the high point. My advice: Pick out a platform bed frame you like, then buy a cheap air mattress to put on it."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. birdlike 0 #24 July 8, 2007 QuoteI'm looking to buy one. Any suggestions on a good bed? Whatever you do, keep the cats away from it! My girlfriend and I had a good air mattress that got ruined by our two playful kitties. We woke up one morning with the bed so deflated that our hips were touching the floor through the bed, and I ended up with some lasting lower back pain from sleeping that way for a while. NWFlyer 2 #25 July 9, 2007 Aerobed is a good brand.
