Nightingale 0 #1 July 10, 2007 Has anyone else read this: My River Home I found it accidentally. The guy who wrote it is someone I used to work on dinosaur excavations with, and used to be a skydiver at Elsinore. Not sure if he's still jumping. I had a question for him about fossils, and googled his name, and found his book. The book tells about his time as a US Marine in the first gulf war and contrasts it with his 2003 sail down the Mississippi river on a homemade raft. I was really surprised at the level of depth in the book, especially about the gulf war. It was fascinating to get an inside perspective from an enlisted marine. The book was awesome, and it was written by a skydiver (although skydiving isn't mentioned in the book), so I figured I'd find out if anyone else had read it.
