I am not 100% sure but I seem to recall hearing that the infection can have some negative effect on your kidneys so rather than just riding it out you might want to go see a doctor just to be safe. I know it seems a bit much for something that just seems like a very sore throat but why take a chance My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within. misskriss 0 #3 July 9, 2007 Go to the doc and get some antibiotics. If it is strep it won't get better on its own. Strep throat can be nasty, nasty.
ntrprnr 0 #4 July 9, 2007 No BS - Get some antibiotics. 5 days of pills and it's gone. I get it 4 times a year, usually after overseas travel. But it won't go away on its own, it'll fester and get worse. Antibiotics and done._______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." floridadiver81 0 #9 July 10, 2007 ok..im posting in this thread again because something srtange is going on. I started taking the antibiotics at 11 this morning and its now 7:32pm..and for the last 4 hours it seems as though my salvatory system just went into overload. Ive only taken 2 of the penicilin pills...on a completely empty stomach....does it really work that fast? I can swallow easier and all the mucas is coming up which is a good thing too. THe doctor didnt say anything about the salivating glands working overtime like they are."Age has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge, learning, respect, attitude, or personality." -yardhippie "Fight the air, and the air will kick your ass!!! marks 0 #10 July 10, 2007 shouldn't you eat? I thought you had to take it WITH food.
floridadiver81 0 #11 July 10, 2007 Nope. The doc told me either on a completely empty stomach or 2-3 hours after eating...and the paper i got with the perscription also states the same thing. It goes right into the bloodstream faster if there isnt food digesting in the stomach."Age has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge, learning, respect, attitude, or personality." -yardhippie "Fight the air, and the air will kick your ass!!!
