Convertible Booster seats for toddlers?

Recommended Posts

Hey to those with toddlers using booster seats...

My wife has been researching convertible booster seats and just feels a bit overwhelmed at the choices out there. She wants to seat our toddler rear facing til she's about 30 lbs, then switch to front facing.

Anybody have a seat like that, and what kind is it and do you like it?

That was no help at all... :|:P

Anybody else???

Well, this took all of about 5 seconds on Google... :P

The Evenflo and Graco seats are good - the models are different since my littlest was using them, so I can't say further than that...

That's better! :D I have looked at several sites myself, including this one: http://babyproducts.about.com/od/carseats/tp/topconvcarseats.htm which led me to the Fisher Price seat which seems to have a great price and good reviews: http://www.albeebaby.com/fiprsavodeco1.html

I'm still hoping to get some feedback from fellow assholes on here. ;)

We did different seats...never were satisfied with what we found on the ones that were convertible.

From birth to 1 year we used the Graco Quattro Tour and loved it. The car seat snaps into a base that you put in the car and into the stroller, so if your kid is sleeping you don't have to wake them to switch from one to the other.

At one year we switched to the Britax Marathon after doing a lot of research and are very happy with it. It has one of the highest weight capacities and was the most comfortable for our daughter, not to mention it got some of the best reviews of all the seats available.

We're using a graco booster now (she's almost 4) in the wife's odyssey but we still use the britax in my pos car for increased safety and because it's still super comfortable and secure for the kiddo.

edit to add the booster seat link

Thanks dude,

We have in fact, been using a Graco system as well for infants, almost exactly what you have, car seat AND stroller set.

We just ordered the Fisher Price convertible seat that I mentioned earlier to try it out at least, and it's got a 30 day return policy. Our kid's not yet 20 lbs so we have some time. This seat is manufactured by Britax too so that bodes well, as many people seem to like Britax's products. It's just not as expensive, that's all.

:)

That fisher price seat looks a lot like the britax marathon, only it's way the hell less expensive! I would think that one would work perfect...it doesn't go quite as high on the weight (55# vs 65# on the marathon) but unless you have an obese kid that will still hold you till it's time to get a booster.:P

Then it looks like we made a good purchase. Our kid's small for her age. 15 months and just 19 lbs, but damn she is ACTIVE!!!
