longtall 0 #1 July 10, 2007 Does the Perris DC-9 fly jumpers on a schedule of loads , or just when they have x number of ready paying jumpers? I want to jump the '9' but dont know when would be a good time to be there....J...." 90 right, five miles then cut."---Pukin Buzzards
quade 4 #2 July 10, 2007 Normally Manifest will announce in advance that on a specific day they'll have the jet available for jumps. Then they usually have a sign up sheet available a day or so in advance. If the right number of jumpers sign up and pay in advance, it's pretty much an automatic go. If there isn't enough jumpers signed up, they'll hold the plane, pilot and crew for as long as it makes sense for them to do so, but there is a minimum number of jumpers required to make it a viable operation. I don't recall the minimum number of jumpers required for the actual operation to take place. Understand that operating the jet is FAR beyond what is required for operating a Twin Otter. Far more fuel, much more crew involved . . . So, to actually answer your question; call up Manifest, put some money on your account, have them put you on the sign up sheet, arrive a little bit early to check in and get the jet briefing, then hope enough others have done the same.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

gonzalesna 0 #4 July 10, 2007 Check the website calendar. Also, I know they've got a boogie coming up towards the end of the month and they're planning on doing jet jumps then. It's called the UNconventional boogie. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie. gonzalesna 0 #6 July 12, 2007 QuoteHow many lifts per week on average does the jet actually make? It doesn't go weekly from what I've seen. It seems to be more active during busy weekends like those consisting of a holiday and during boogies. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse.
