skysprite 0 #1 July 19, 2007 You may know this already but for those who don't, the entire book 7 of Harry Potter got leaked onto the internet early this week. The how's and why's are still being discussed and debated, but they know for sure two companies were involved in somehow accidently shipping out 12 million (that's the number I heard this morning) books early. Many people who preordered their copy from this website received their book on Tuesday. Someone then took pictures of every single page, and uploaded it online. Don't know if this person was among those who received it early, or if he/she got it another way. Of course this is sparking a big debate asking questions ranging from the legality of everything to whether or not this will spoil it for some people and if it will change the sales numbers any. Pretty crazy for Potter fans right now. I downloaded the book early this week. For months now "leaks" have been put on the internet that are really nothing more than fan fiction. So curious about the latest "leak" I downloaded it thinking I would see fanfic. Then I realized it was real, the media started doing stories on it etc. I looked over enough of it to find out who "wins" and what happens to our three leads, who dies, and also two very cool plot points. Did it spoil it for me? No! In fact I can't wait until tomorrow night! Sure I know how it ends, but it's not the destination, but rather it's the journey (as many are saying in response to this). What do you all think? Have any of you actually tried to read the book using the images that were leaked? Are you totally against all this? But if y'all really want to know, this stuff is extremely easy to find doing a basic search online. In fact you don't even have to download the leaked copy: there are plenty of summaries posted up everywhere that answers all of the "big questions" about book 7. tigra 0 #10 July 19, 2007 I usually don't care about spoilers, but this situation bugs me and I'm trying really hard not to pay attention or look at the sites that are posting them. I think seeing the "spoilers" will spoil my enjoyment of this final installment, but I'm human and very tempted to look. In fact, I'm going to try my best and ignore this thread until I've got my copy and I've finished it. And since it was leaked all over the place, I actually think the publishers ought to just say "F*** IT!" and release the book now instead of waiting another 36 hours.
