shropshire 0 #1 July 26, 2007 It's great to see the zero tolerence displayed by the teams to their dope head 'athletes'. QuoteTour de France leader Michael Rasmussen has been sacked by his Rabobank team and thrown out of the race. The 33-year-old Dane has been at the centre of controversy during the Tour since it was revealed he missed out-of-competition drugs tests. clicky (.)Y(.) Scoop 0 #6 July 26, 2007 Its wrong he missed one of his drugs tests but didn't he proudly announce he has had 14 drug tests already during this tour and all have been negative. Good one for Contador, he's impressed me with his explosive charges, really put the pressure on the favourites. Wasn't it 5 charges he put on Rasmussen in stage 15? Rabobank sacked him because they found out that he had actually lied to them about his whereabouts when he was explaining those 'administrative errors.' He told them he'd been in Mexico, they've now found out he was in Italy. At least Contador will be a popular winner.Do you want to have an ideagasm? May be his team director was aware of that but not the Tour organisator and not the journalist and spectators. From the time is has been known , he is booed by spectators which is, for the sponsor , not good at all. I was not aware about the location issue but this confirms the suspicion. You cannot forget 2 times to tell where you gonna train as it is mandatory to do so. JBça passe ou ça frotte
jakee 1,596 #12 July 26, 2007 QuoteMay be his team director was aware of that but not the Tour organisator and not the journalist and spectators. I'm pretty sure the organisers were aware before the Tour started that Rasmussen had 2 official warnings against his name for missing 2 out of comp drug tests earlier this year. Unfortunately the tour organisers could not yet exclude him from the race themselves (missing 3 tests would have equated to a positive result). I believe Christian Prudhomme did put pressure on Rabobank not to select Rasmussen but the team director was happy with the explanation that Rasmussen gave. That is, he was happy until he found out last night that Rasmussen had lied to him, then he felt that he had no choice but to sack him, his status had simply become far too questionable.Do you want to have an ideagasm? simplyputsi 0 #15 July 26, 2007 The tour has become more about who can get by without being caught doping than it is who is actually winning. The front runners are doping. They need to just make it ok to dope, standardize it somehow, and tada no more problems.Skymama's #2 stalker -

It would simply put all the riders back on a level playing field, the riders who want to cheat wouldn't be getting any advantage and so they would simply break the new rules and take more. There are new drugs coming out all the time, and there will always be riders who want to go further than everyone else.Do you want to have an ideagasm? simplyputsi 0 #17 July 26, 2007 Of course. And it's really sad. Maybe then they should just not care about the doping. Openly admit that cycling is a whoever has the most money and can buy the best dope will win sport. Watch all the sponsors start to back out and cycling take a backseat to every other sport. That will never happen as the sponsors are acting like they actually care about doping these days. It's a good show, but no one is buying it that actually knows what is going on.Skymama's #2 stalker -
shropshire 0 #18 July 26, 2007 I don't agree. We need to stamp out cheating every time that we catch the bastards. We can not let these scroats get away with doping. As professionals, they are on big money and kids look up to them. They need to earn that money and respect. I may be a bit naive, but when the scum floats to the surface it needs to be scooped out and flushed down the toilet. Forever ... no fines, no short term bans ... FOR LIFE.. game over. (.)Y(.)
