pre7117 0 #1 July 26, 2007 I was just wondering what is a good way of boosting business? Things have been kind of slow for me and would like to see what is a good way of boosting business. HELLFISH 429 POPS 11113

normiss 891 #4 July 26, 2007 doesn't matter...sex will still sell it... I've been to conventions for all sorts of industries and sex seels it, see it advertised on tv and sex sells it, seen ads in print and sex sells it...doesn't matter what it is, the marketing department is convinced that a sexually minded advert will get peoples attention....I think it's true... who's the skydiving clothing company advertising on the top of these pages??? pre7117 0 #8 July 26, 2007 Great idea but it wont work for me. I have a auto salvage business. I supply late model (2000 & newer) new and used car & light duty truck parts to dealers, body shops, repair shops and insurance companies. Most people still think of them as junk yards, I dont have junk. If your insurance paid to have your car fixed, someone in my line of work supplied them the part.HELLFISH 429 POPS 11113

normiss 891 #10 July 26, 2007 we have after hours adverts on tv here...cheapest time to buy ad space...I'm always amused at the ads there and some even have cult followings... take the notorious Big Diggler of Junk in the Trunk fame. He's using his similarity to some porn star and rediculous ads...he has a huge cult following and is REALLY selling some product these days. That's right! stoopid ads on the independant channels have made some good money for a lot of local small business...and I know we ALL know 588-2300...where do you think they started?? Have your advertising (either TV or Flyers) altering the current image of Auto Salvage. Im thinking scenes involving hot chicks and guys stripping... the cars, the trucks... and a little of themselves. There is so much fun you can have with the visuals, making it sexy and fun. Add in a punchy strapline and a bit of razzle dazzle and away you go. BP
Broke 0 #12 July 27, 2007 What kind of business? The only reason that sex sells is because it appeals to everyones lower nature, and subconsciouslly we think of it as a tabooDivot your source for all things Hillbilly. How does your competition compare to you? You are in a commodity business that is inherently driven by suppy and demand factors that you have no control over. You can compete on things like price and service, or maybe specialized inventory though. Is your market local, regional, or national? Walt
Rick 67 #14 July 27, 2007 one thing we have found effective is industry magazines they must have some trade association magazines for car dealers and repair shops. Or cold calling on the local businesses that would use your services Or hire a hot chick to do the cold calling You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!
