DougH 270 #3 July 27, 2007 I don't think it is bullshit, you simply need the read the fucking labels!!! Both Dasani and Aquafina state they are reverse osmosis filtered water. Why would you RO water from a good spring source? I knew all along that it was tap water, but who cares... they filter it and it tastes good. Thanatos340 1 #4 July 27, 2007 Lol!! One of the last Projects I worked on with my Father before he passed away was Designing and building Conveying and packaging systems for a "Crystal Springs" Water Bottling plant. I was totally shocked when I discovered that the Water they were bottling was being pumped straight of the Chattahoochee River in an industrial area of Atlanta (No way in Hell I would EVER drink water out of that river.) Yes, they filter and purify the hell out of it.. But after knowing where it came from, I could never bring myself to drink it again.

Only safe way drink water is to sanitize it with a little Alcohol.. Preferably Scotch. Then and only then is it safe to drink.
Jewels 0 #11 July 27, 2007 You know you're desperate if you'll buy THAT stuff. I'm lucky. We have great tap water here. The only thing I liked better about the water in Atlanta was that it was softer than ours is, but I'll take SANITARY over soft ANY day. Edited to add: I didn't see your suggestion for sanitizing it. MrBrant 0 #13 July 27, 2007 I love the last paragraph of that article: Quote "Pepsi and Coke do not make a lot of profit" on bottled water, said Kolpak, adding that people may talk about the issue, but will likely continue buying some bottled water Wait a sec. Run tap water through a filter, sell it for $2 a 600 mL bottle, and NOT make a lot of profit? (sorry, I guess it's usually only $1.75 for 600 mL....) Sure, scotch is good for getting rid of 99% of those irritating impurities. But to eliminate that stubborn 1% which remains, a dash of sweet vermouth will do the trick...so long as it is shaken with ice and served straight up. Derekbox 0 #23 July 28, 2007 The beauty of the water that Pepsi and Coke sell it is the same water they use to make there soda with, minus everything else (syrups, coloring, carbonation, etc). They sell it for the exact same price as the soda, sometimes, ironically more than the soda and people buy it by the droves. Imagine if Papa Johns could sell pizza crusts without any toppings for the same price or more than a regular pizza. Yea, people are stupid. I drink from the sink. The honest truth is that our bodies do a A great job of filtering most shit we put in it. I am just waiting for my moment of inspiration where I repackage something for a huge markup and people make me rich buying what falls from the sky for free.
