TypicalFish 0 #51 July 31, 2007 Quote Just been sitting here reading some posts... ChasingBlueSky's post about seeing a dying parent made me think... I do a lot of things - I'm involved in a lot of sports/groups/professional orgs/etc... But never, and I mean NEVER, have I seen a more compassionate, caring, and all-around DECENT group of people than the skydivers we call our friends on dropzone.com. I know this is going to sound completely cheesy and trite, but I really do feel blessed, privileged, humbled, and honored to be a part of this forum. We're all really something wonderful. OK. I'm done. Go back to ragging on me for whatever. Tell that to PhillyKev... I miss his bear avatar. popsjumper 2 #52 July 31, 2007 Quote ...I'm going to be a nun forever aren't I? Pretty much until you bang a shit load of young jumpers, yes. Oh wait...that may never happen...I don't know of a lot of young Priests out here. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. wildblue 7 #53 July 31, 2007 Quote This thread is dangerously close to being fluff. This is your 1 warning Peter. Dangerously close?! It's got the fluff-o-meter pegged. I'm surprised Slappie hasn't shown up to burn this thread in effigy.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

ACMESkydiver 0 #55 July 31, 2007 Quote I most certainly dont think about them when i'm not on dizzy. I do, actually! I think of Clint when I see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I still think of JP when I see a picture or medal of St. Michael...I think of Peter when I see running gear (true story...I was telling my mom about my 'skydiver friend in NY that runs marathons' not 2 hours ago! ) I think of Mikey when something comes across the news about Kosovo... I think of LouDiamond when I hear something about the military, and Bigun if it's Rangers... I think of Betsy when a kid's show called 'Sky Dancers' is mentioned, and I think of SeaKev and my other firefighter buddy that isn't a skyjumper every time I see a fire engine. I thought of Walt as I walked into a horror scene in my son's bedroom this morning at 6:30am...he had poop all over the bed, walls, and (no kidding) the ceiling. I think of Muenkel when I pass a Catholic church, and Wildcard when I consider taking my kid(s) in to the ER. I think of Shannon when I walk past the wine in the grocery store, and Ed (BodyPilot) when I see a pic of a wingsuit. I think about Gia, Beth, and Andy Copland when I see candy ring pops in the store. I think of NWFlyer every time I make a good decision to go workout instead of sitting at home. -And no, I'm not lying. I really do think about all these people and more...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

ACMESkydiver 0 #59 August 1, 2007 I actually SAVED this reply from yesterday when the boards were down! Quote Anything that makes you think of me? SIGN LANGUAGE!!!! You know I was thinking that just as we were pulling out of the driveway after I made that post, too. Taking the boys out in public...it's interesting. This time we didn't get out of the truck (drive through for some tater tots, then the real destination was to get them some dairy-free sugar free sorbet because it's so HOT here and the babies are bored...) I sent little Jaleesa in to fetch the ice cream so I didn't have to haul the boys into the shop. I would have been signing 'stand UP' over and over to get them up from rolling on the floor of the ice cream shop, and 'quiet DOWN' to hush their happy shrieking when they saw the ice cream, and they'd be signing back 'more EAT please! more EAT please!!' whilest screaming so loudly you'd swear a fire alarm was going off...and then they'd sign 'happy' -well, happy is really just a very enthusiastic chest pat for them, much like plllleeeeease!!!! I only use it a bunch when we're out in public so people will leave us the freak alone... We use more intonation, gesture, and verbal at home than anything else.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
