Squeak 17 #2 August 1, 2007 neither Mike I feel that Sunset would work much better in Landscvape orientationYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
mnealtx 0 #3 August 1, 2007 I didn't take any landscape oriented shots due to close obstacles and the fact that I wanted to catch the sun rays in the overhead clouds. Thank you for the honest comment, though!Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
Zep 0 #4 August 1, 2007 I like both of them, Which crop is better really depends on what you want to do with them. IE; 1st crop mounted as a photo, 2nd crop could be used in a more visual environment Thats my opinion Gone fishing
shropshire 0 #5 August 1, 2007 Beautiful pictures .... have you considered a rule of 3rds crop (maybe have the cloud line a little higher) (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome
Katzeye 0 #6 August 1, 2007 That cloud looks like an gator heading over the sun. Must be chasing the cow heading over the moon! Is a chicken omelette redundant?
mnealtx 0 #7 August 1, 2007 QuoteBeautiful pictures .... have you considered a rule of 3rds crop (maybe have the cloud line a little higher) Thanks for the compliment! The Sun is on the rule of 3rds horizontal line... one nice thing about Lightroom is, when you use the crop tool, it puts the rule lines in there for you. I was going to try to set the Sun at the bottom-left intersection, but it would have made the crop TOO narrow.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. shropshire 0 #8 August 1, 2007 I'll have to take a look at Lightroom. I need something to make my pictures better. Is it any good at un-twisting pictures (I often find that my verticle lines are verticle.. just a few degrees out is really noticable and anoying)? (.)Y(.) Yup...the latest version has a straighten tool just like PS. It's basically a MUCH more advanced front end using the ACR 4.1 engine. I like it pretty well so far.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. 2fat2fly 0 #10 August 1, 2007 The crop I like best is the one under all of those lights in the basement.....but I like the top photo, too I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried

ntrprnr 0 #12 August 1, 2007 To answer your question, the second one is more striking. But, I'm also in the camp that believes that sunsets work better in a landscape format. Beautiful shots, though! -Peter PS: PM me your email, I'll send you some sunset shots I took from my balcony..._______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" mnealtx 0 #13 August 1, 2007 Hi Peter - in general, I agree about landscape orientation - I just didn't want to give up the sun ray in the top clouds. That, and I had some obstructions closer in that would have resulted in almost the same crop if it had been landscape. email is the same username as here, at gmailMike I love you, Shannon and Jim. Armour666 0 #14 August 1, 2007 The second one, with the first to much dark mass from the shadowed ground distracts, that’s my uneducated in art personal preference opinion nice shots SO this one time at band camp..... ACMESkydiver 0 #15 August 1, 2007 I like the first one better. I think the contrast between light and dark is more balanced. Very purdy pics. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
