Bass Players

Just picked me up a new one today. Gonna play with it for a bit and start up on some lessons down at the shop I picked it up at.

Besides practicing as much as I can relative to how good I want to become, any other advice? Good intro books/DVDs?

I'm having to teach myself to read bass clef all over again.

Learn the scales. Bass players are in the unique position of being able to play pretty much whatever they want so long as in the right key.

After you've got some proficiency nothing improves you like jamming with some guys.

Met Glover before. '82. Hung with him and the band for a week. Very good guy. Can't say much for Blackmore and Lord, but Roger was down-to-earth and loving every minute of the whole R&R thing.
