Have you ever analyzed yourself??

Recommended Posts

What did you discover??

I have alot the last two years and I have learned alot about myself. (especially in the last few months) I'm not sure what I will do with my new found knowledge but at least I know why I have done some of the things I have done and have an idea where I should go from here.

Its funny you bring this post up Chris. I've spent some time recently reflecting on my past, present and future. Trying to discern why I made some of the decisions Ive made and and how they effected me in the long run. Although I don't "regret" any of the decisions Ive made, given the chance there are some things I would have do differently.

For those that asked I mean looking at the things you do and and why you do them. Not necessarily good things or bad things just everything you do. If you think about it, if someone does bad things all the time me consider them to be messed up in the head but really someone that does good things can be just as messed up. Why do you do the things you do?

Yes... Yes I analyze and overanalyze myself and my actions... (sometimes probably more then I should)

I figure I could never understand fully why other people do the things they do but at least I can understand why *I* do the things I do and subsiquently better understand who I am...

I generally try to taylor my actions to result in positive things for the people around me... sometimes it works better then others... :$:)

I've been called too analytical. And I've discovered that I spend too much time on dz.com :D.

That said, it helps to take time to react to situations sometimes; a thoughtful response to a situation might not be the immediate one.

Obviously this doesn't apply if you're at 1400 with a bad main, but not all situations require immediate response. And by looking at responses to situations you can also understand yourself somewhat.

You shouldnt OVER do anything. It makes for lost moments, and missed experiences. You can and probably do talk yourself out of things that may be great simply because you over thought.

Then again I analaze alot but never to much, just the right amount to give me peace in my journey.
Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this

I understand... and I agree... and alas, I've actually become less critical of myself as I've aged... I have probably talked my way out of things that I should have done... but I'm also generally very open about trying new and interesting things (I'll eat just about any type of food at least once...)

Yes I have. And I realized I did a lot of things I didn't like because of situations I allowed myself to get into.
This all led to some major life changes that have worked out very well so far.

Oh my, yes I have. And it seems that just when I have myself all figured out I fuck up again and have to start diggin' from scratch. Inside can be a scary place sometimes...lol. But as long as ya' keep pluggin' away, it all comes out in the wash mostly....I think.

I have analyzed myself and came up with the following conclusions:
I never say "no."
I try WAY to hard to please others, (even at my own expense).
I feel guilt if I place my own wants/needs above others'. :|
I need extensive counseling in order to become the bitch that is hiding in me somewhere!:S
