bluepill 0 #1 August 8, 2007 My company are going to hold an "Away Day" at for our department and the theme for the day will be Change. I have been roped in as one of the organisers and I'm looking for any ideas for activities or things to do on the day. Or of any inspirational speakers in the UK that you would recommend. Has anyone got any ideas? The event last year was a real success so the director wants something similar this time around. Last years event: Was held (repeated) over 3 days. Staff numbers were 80 - 120 per day. Format was - Speakers internal and external (40 mins max) interspersed with activities and break-out sessions. This year the event will again be over 3 days but the numbers are expected to be up a bit. Probably 140 - 160+. The delegates are all internal staff from Lower Management up to Director level.(some are internal customers), all ages. Their skill bases consist of Accountants, System techies and Projects Managers. We want to keep to a similar format. And whilst we want the theme of change we dont want it to be too closely related to work, as we dont want individuals slipping into their work "type" roles. E.G we dont want people from our risk area to automatically start contributing from a risk perspective. If that makes any sense. The kind of ideas in the pot so far are: Construction workshop - E.G. Build something and half way through change the delivery requirements. Something to do with Six Sigma lean process. Designing and creating clothes (for a fashion show) and again change the requirements. - We dont think this will fly because people may feel uncomfortable about the fashion show.
