iamsam 0 #4 August 13, 2007 they look like scotch bonnets to me fire!!edit: having clicked on the link above, they still look like scotch bonnets. best for hot pepper sauce but you won't get the harvest from a plant or two, use them in a jerk marinade and don't forget to drink beer but what do I know

I always thought they were the same. Ditto on the jerk marinade! Hot enough for me. I watched a guy at work eat a whole habanero once. DougH 270 #9 August 14, 2007 Scotch bonnets have the same heat, but they also have a very fruity flavor to go with all that heat. I like both, but Scotch bonnets are my favorites!"The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

ChrisL 2 #11 August 14, 2007 I cultivate Red Savina Habaneros (550,000+ scoville units) and Caribbean Red Habaneros (400,000+ scoville units) for hot sauce. If you like hot, these habanero varieties are more than 2x hotter than scotch bonnets. Scotch Bonnets weighing in at a mere 200,000 scoville units If you want ridiculously hot, try a Bhut Jolokia. (over 1,000,000 scoville units) To put all these numbers into perspective, the very hottest jalapeno's are only around 4000 to 6000 scoville units__ My mighty steed

Probably a Jamaican Red Hot. Pretty hot at 150,000 scoville units. Not as hot as the habanero varieties I mentioned earlier__ My mighty steed
