riggerrob 643 #2 July 5, 2006 Gently push the cutter back through the channels, towards the battery box. When in doubt, ask your local rigger to show you.

councilman24 37 #7 July 6, 2006 That's what I thought but was being senior. Of course we used to call that a bag. Not much into crw although I have a lightening in a rig in the cabinet.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
koppel 5 #8 July 6, 2006 Not to give you a hard time about it but I hate it when clients start pulling things out of their rigs or open them if they are bringing them to me for work. Why not wait until you are at your rigger's loft and then do it with them so they can teach you how to do it properly and in a suitable environ. Rant over.I like my canopy... ...it lets me down. Why not wait until you are at your rigger's loft and then do it with them so they can teach you how to do it properly and in a suitable environ. I learned from old school skydivers, doing it yourself is no new thing to me. As a mechanic, i like to see how things work. The cypres needed a 8 year and had to be sent out. I am grounded for about a month so will not be jumping it. I am going to Ohio in two weeks and hope to pick the unit up but it had to get in the mail yesterday. I did not want my rig left at the loft waiting. It is much safer sitting in my home in the ac in the dark. I had removed one in my last rig but had forgot about removing the cutter. Bill Von posted a few years back about taking not being afraid of your reserve. opening it up and having a look. Even repacking it and asking the rigger if it would work. I have a "clean room" Might do it. Would you have trouble withthat as well? A few at my dz gave me a hard time when i hooked up my own reserve. In fact they ran to the Sta and the dzo to "tell" . I had all ready spoke to my rigger and he check the lines when i was done. I tipped him well and we all were happy. I want to know all I can about gear. Isn't this better than a lot of peoples attitude about the gear they jump /rant off btw i am not mad just trying to wake up some sheep _________________________________________________
koppel 5 #10 July 6, 2006 As I said I wasn't trying to give you a hard time. And it appears that you have your head screwed on the right way for what your doing. Not everyone does. I agree that its good to get rid of the gear fear that many people have. As you said you spoke to your rigger first so you had already covered that base.I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
