Could try here http://www.yotel.com/ - it is a capsule hotel that you can book by the hour - from the same guy that brought you Yo Sushi - looks... interesting!

Regards

Ashley

That's interesting as hell!

The place I stayed at last time was the Ibis - as I recall, it was about 50 pounds all told with the transfers. I'd need the room for about 12 hours, so a basic room would run 65 pounds and no worries about the transfers. It bears thinking on...but seems a bit pricey.

what about staying in a B&B?

That's a possibility, as well. I just need a place to put my head down and a bathroom - the rest is gravy.

Hmm... the Renaissance Gatwick is only .8 miles from the airport, and it's only 93 euro.... they appear to have free shuttle service as well...

Start Googling B & B's. When I was doing my hotel search for our summer trip, I remember running across some places that advertised half-day rates for travelers who just wanted a little rest.

Not much luck with that, so far. I've found some B&B listings, but they all seem to be the same price as the hotels.

My flight gets in at 7pm, and I need to be back at the airport by 8am. The Renaissance Gatwick has been the best choice I've seen so far, although the Yotel is interesting from a novelty standpoint.

Once again, it's coming time for vacation.

I'll have an overnight layover at Gatwick. Anyone care to recommend a hotel that's NOT incredibly overpriced?

Try

www.laterooms.co.uk

I use it all the time and you can pick up some good deals.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
