lawrocket 3 #1 August 30, 2007 I am grateful so far that weathermen still get it wrong sometimes. According to the forecast it's supposed to be 106 out by now, rising to 108 and humid. Yikes. We rarely ever get heat indexes above the expected high - we're normally pretty dry. The heat index was expected to be above 110. This morning, however, we had thunderstorms. It's the first measurable rain we've had here in months. The clouds have not yet lifted. In fact, it just started drizzling again and we are at 86 degrees with a heat index of 88. It honestly reminds me of the South. Pleasant and even with the heat index it's cooler than it has been in the last couple of weeks. Just south of us about 100 miles, though, is Bakersfield. They ain't so lucky. They are at 101. North of us about 70 miles i Modesto - 103. Ironically, they were forecast a high of 97 due to isolated thunderstorms. I hope this keeps up. You know, even if it rises to 100 I'll be grateful that it wasn't 108. My wife is hotter than your wife.
