So, I bought a canopy online last week, and asked the seller to get it here by today, as I'm working @ the DZ this weekend and have already sold my last main. He kind of drug his heels a bit and left it kind of to the last minute to ship, but he chose a service that would get it here with a day to spare: UPS Expedited. I wasn't too impressed with this, as I've had bad experiences with UPS in the past, like them delivering a Cypres to the wrong address, and I'm sure everyone knows about the exorbatent brokerage fees they collect, but I didn't ask him not to ship UPS, so I can hardly be upset about that. Anyhoo, they "guaranteed" it to be here by the end of yesterday. When it didn't show yesterday, I called them, and they told me they were sorry for the delay, but it was held up in customs, blah, blah... So it still hasn't shown up today (1230hrs) and when I called, they just said, "Oh, it will be there by the end of the day, it's already on a delivery truck." When I asked them what the end of the day meant, they told me 8:00PM!!!! So now, I have to wait around at home and not go to the DZ until possibly 8:00 instead of leaving at 4:00 like I should be. I asked them if they could leave it at the depot, and I'd come pick it up this morning, but they told me that they're required to make at least one delivery attempt. I shudder when I think of how much this is going to cost me when it gets here too. I bought a reserve ($700) and it was shipped UPS a while ago, and I believe brokerage was in the $130 range.
