Pablito 0 #1 June 26, 2006 FYI, this could be for all AADs to. 17. What happens if I forgot to shut down my Vigil when I travel in a moving vehicle (Train, Car, Bus...) ? Vigil is the most accurate AAD on the market. It becomes operational in a zone of 150ft/46m above or under takeoff level. To avoid unexpected firing, you must switch OFF your Vigil before traveling in a closed vehicle (boot or trunk) due to possible air pressure variation. Pablito 0 #3 June 26, 2006 Well if you are driving and you are going downhill and there is a storm approaching, the chances are slim but it could happen. If the unit is on and you slam the door of your car and is a tight seal car, it also could happen Cielos Azules Pablito "If you don't overcome your fears they will overcome you first" Shady Monkey/6Segundos Rodriguez/AKA Pablito

mark 107 #6 June 26, 2006 The +150 feet can be inferred from section 4, "Flight Restriction for the Pilot." if there is an extended time (100 seconds) within that window, Vigil assumes a change in surface pressure, not altitude. 100 seconds should be plenty of time for all but the slowest jump planes to climb at least 150 feet. Samurai136 0 #7 June 26, 2006 Page 17QuoteThe Vigil is now ready for use and is in a stand-by status (recalibrating itself every 32 sec). During take off the Vigil will go to an active status (64 calculations per sec.) above 150 feet or under -150 feet (+ 46 m or – 46 m) in a time of max. 32 sec. Vigil’s active status will be confirmed by three short flashings of the green led."Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

I wonder how many versions/ revisions they've gone thru in the past few years?"Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
MarkM 0 #13 June 29, 2006 It can really be a concern if you drive your car off of a cliff. Thankfully those of us living in Florida don't have to worry about this.
