I'm not one of them:D I grew up there, there are many better places in OZ to visit for a holiday, Sydney is just a big city with a pretty harbour.
I hope you get to see more of OZ than just our version of LA:)
When you heading here?

That'll be perfect for sailing. :)

So are the Whitsunday Islands off Queensland, and far more interesting than Sydney.

How long you there for ? you can get to Qld pretty cheap if you have time

Not when there is hardly any wind during summer.

I vote sydney to be one of the worst vacation destinations on the planet.

It is a great place to live with a lifestyle i am sure many would enjoy though it is one of the most expensive places in the world to live. It is more expensive than London.
On top of that the traffic is terrible, the beaches are overcrowded with drunk Brits and Irish who cant swim, the public transport is shocking and the dropzone is ages away and it costs $16 in tolls to get there and back plus the stupid 1.50 per litre for petrol.

It is a good life though!:P

That green arrow is pointing to somewhere in the vicinity of Mt Druitt or St Marys. That's a very long way from sailing, and not necessarily the most interesting area either. Just so ya know.

But Sydney is a spectacular city, particularly if you like sailing.

How the hell do you manage to pay $16 in tolls to get to the DZ?

From Bondi to Picton you take Bondi -> Carrington -> Darley -> Allision -> Darcy -> South Dowling -> M5.

The toll on the M5 is $3.80, and you can claim $3.45 of that back using the M4/M5 cashback scheme. Total toll cost is about 70c and travel time is about 45-50min in the morning.

If that's too far for you, then why do you live in Bondi with all the pissed Brits and Irish that can't swim? There's plenty of places & beaches far closer to the DZ.

Well that i need to learn more about. I just followed satnav out there and it cost a small fortune. Will look more into this cash back scheme you mention. I dont have a e-tag either.

As far as living on bondi beach, that is no longer, I am now living in Artarmon in a proper house with a pool and back yard rather than a tiny apartment with great views.

When i mentioned the beaches, I am talking about the beaches that tourists are automatically heading for who come to visit Sydney. I knwo there are some gorgeous beaches around.

BTW, any chance you know of the beach that you are allowed to take dogs to around sydney..? I know there is one but can not find any info on it and i really want my puppies to spend lots of time in the ocean.
