Remster 30 #1 June 23, 2006 Quick question: what are there max recommendations for laoding them? Thinking Spectre 120 loaded with approx 150 lbs.Remster
beezyshaw 0 #2 June 23, 2006 What did you mean by that question? What are canopy makers' recommendations for use of Spectra 550? As a canopy maker I would answer I wouldn't recommend the use of Spectra 550 on any canopy, period. It doesn't hold trim worth a crap. If you want small lines, use a more dimensionally stable fiber like Technora (HMA).
Remster 30 #3 June 23, 2006 Thats why I'm asking! To get info! Edit: I guess my initial question wasnt very well worded. What are the advantages of 825 over 550 and vice versa. Thinner lines, lower laod cabaility, poor dimmentional stability... Any other things I'm missing now?Remster
riggerrob 643 #4 June 24, 2006 Spectra 825 shrinks out of trim slower. Spectra 825 brake lines last longer.
masterrigger1 2 #5 June 24, 2006 Spectra 825 only exists in the PD world. It is really 725 lb line. PD gave it a new name to separate the uncoated 725 lb. Spectra from the Coated 725 lb. Spectra in-house. 725 lb. brake lines shrink faster than 1000 lb. ones. Generally speaking of Spectra, the thicker the braid, the slower it shrinks. aironscott 3 #6 June 26, 2006 As usual Mel got it right. But I am begging to ask the question.....Looks like you posted at about noon on Saturday. Shouldn't you be doing something else right about now? Bro - get out of the loft and get into (and out of) an airplane. Too bad you're on the other coast. We had a kick ass bluegrass festival right across the road from our dz this weekend. cya aaron“God Damn Mountain Dew MotherFuckers!”
masterrigger1 2 #7 June 26, 2006 Aaron, Yep, I was in the loft all weekend. Rain was dominate most of the weekend here! Good time to try and catch up... I will be back on the left coast next month. Might just come see you guys and fall out of an airplane there! Blue ones, MELSkyworks Parachute Service, LLC www.Skyworksparachuteservice.com
