windcatcher 0 #1 September 6, 2007 Help me! One of my favorite dresses has a small stain that is set in. Am I forever doomed to wear a stain, or can anybody let me in on a secret formula to get the stain out? And PLEASE do not tell me to use something that will end up actually destroying the dress, thereby getting rid of the stain. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world... skymama 37 #2 September 6, 2007 What kind of material is the dress? Do you know what the stain is? Has the dress been through the dryer? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

windcatcher 0 #4 September 6, 2007 I think the dress is cotton, and the stain is probably foundation. Yes, the dress has been through the dryer. I actually took the dress to the dry cleaners and they said they couldn't get the stain out. Then I read the tag on the dress that said "Do not dry clean." Since you asked in Bonfire, it's my duty to tell you that the best way to deal with stains on dresses is to avoid giving oral sex to presidents. 7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth
PLFXpert 0 #7 September 6, 2007 Take garmet, throw in trash, buy another. If the stain doesn't come out easily, chances are you'll ruin the fabric and leave a hole or pills or discoloration where you attempted something more harsh. Clothes come and go. There will always be new favorites. It sucks when something happens but, what can you do? Billy once spilled green paint on my favorite cashmere tank I had hanging in the laundry room. Bless his heart; he felt awful and tried removing the paint with mineral spirits. I still have no idea how he did that. Our laundry room is not green. It's "beach basket" (a neutral). You move on. It was so funny. I didn't care. Even if it wasn't funny, I don't think I've ever cared THAT much about a garment--and I LOVE clothes.Just look at it as a great excuse to go shopping. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. Squeak 17 #8 September 6, 2007 I find if you dabb a little lighter fluid on the stain, then whilst it's still damp, use a match and ignite the fluid, the stain will disappear almost miraculously You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! VideoFly 0 #10 September 7, 2007 I've had good luck with spray Shout. It has even worked after drying clothes, but that makes the job more difficult.
skymama 37 #11 September 7, 2007 A quick look on the internet said shaving cream would fix it. If the dress is already ruined, you might as well try everythng as a science experiment.
