ACMESkydiver 0 #1 September 9, 2007 Oh sure I'll bump it tomorrow for it's proper Monday morning time frame...but I'm happy because as of this morning I am down 20 POUNDS! Not that anyone here would notice...I prolly gained what I just lost since last I saw all y'all, so I won't look any different to any of yous guys. 20 pounds was my first 'goal', and for my reward, I get a new wrist-mount heart rate monitor! -Not the expensive kind, just a $30 version that will give you your heart rate when you push the button. That way I don't have to rely on the faulty HR monitors built in to my treadmill or the ones at the club. -And it's REALLY hard to try to count your own pulse while running, listening to music, and holding your wirst without falling down. So what's your good news? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

MrFreefall383 0 #3 September 9, 2007 Good news... well, I passed my NYPD medical and initial background exam easily. I figured it would be a problem because my pulse was way high when I was checked at MEPS a year ago when I was trying for USCG OCS. But it wasn't a problem, eyes and ears are just as good as they always were, blood pressure within normal range, and I don't have enough to hide to fail an initial background assessment. Though I'm not going to keep pursuing NYPD, it's still a good baseline to know that I can pass their medical, which bodes well for Coast Guard enlistment. NWFlyer 2 #7 September 10, 2007 Jaye, you rock. Congratulations! I just had a fabulous afternoon volunteering at the finish line of the Seattle Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. What an amazing event - I haven't participated in a few years and it was great to get back and remember what a wonderful event it is.
