Zeppelin to reunite

Recommended Posts

Well, the remaining three. I don't care if they are old and need venitlators. I don't care if Robert Plant showing his chest will gross people out. I don't care that Page isn't a junkie anymore.

I'll pay the money to see it, if true.

So far it appears Jimmy and Robert are just discussing it, but enough has been discussed to assume that it will only take place in London and include Bonham's son on drums...I hope they make it to the U.S. If not, I guess we will have to try our best.B|

Edit

Sorry...I didn't mean to leave out legend John Paul Jones........

Ahh the memories

I've never seen em live, but I definetly have my Zepplin memories...All good and peaceful, nothing negative....all goodtimes.

Have you ever had memories of other bands or songs that you once liked, but now they just make you cringe?...Not so with Zepplin....

Bands that used Ronnie James Dio then tried to go on with out him

One of the few bands that survived a transition is Floyd (My opinion) I can listen to the old an new.

You read my mind...I was gonna mention Floyd, but didn't wanna steal Zeps thunder...

One of my biggest regrets is missing their last tour. I do not wanna have the same regret for Zepplin.

EDIT

I have to say that Zep was always around during the good times, but Floyd alows me to look on the bad times with a smile...especially with Division Bell (suprisingly)

Jason will do a kickass job on drums......the probem is, I think, with John Paul Jones............Plant and Page have really pissed him off in the past concerning Zepplin business......without JPJ, it is just another No Quarter tour..........which is something that pissed of JPJ, not only did they not invite him, the used the name of a song he wrote for the tour!>:( Really have to work hard to piss of the bass player!:D:D:D:D

I was hanging in the East Village in New York City in 1969 and Iron Butterfly & Led Zeppelin were both playing the Fillmore East. The year before I'd gotten in to see Janis Joplin, but it was sold out for this show. I stayed outside though and could hear pretty well. There was some controversy about who'd play first as Iron Butterfly knew they were going to get blown away by Led Zeppelin.

I was all of about 16 yrs old then, and it's hard to describe the culture in Greenwich Village in those days, but man, it was a happening!

In the small world department, 25 years later, I was B.A.S.E jumping with the son of Iron Butterfly's drummer.

I really can't believe we went from those heady times of enlightenment to today's saggy baggies and gang signs.

History truly has no memory . . .

In high school (late 90's) when I discovered Led Zeppelin, I immediately bought the complete studio recordings box set, and for a long time that was all I listened to. I listened to the whole thing non-stop (10 albums) on more than one occasion. Good music is timeless.

I saw the 1998 Page/Plant tour in Tampa at the Ice Palace. Great show.

The following night, we went out on a gambling cruise with 25 jumpers for a fellow jumpers surprise birthday party.

(This was back when Nigel had his hair long)
At some point, we were talking to some of the other passengers and convince them that we were hanging out with Robert Plant. He was on an upper deck, he waved and yelled "Hello, mate" in his Brit accent.

I have been following this possible reunion for some time. It has been on, off and maybe about 100 times now.

It's apparent to me that if they do reunite they aren't going to come to the US. I really, really really wish they would, and i would happily pay a retardedly large amount of money to see them. Any opportunity to see Jimmy and Robert hit the stage together can't be passed up. JPJ is still gonna be a great presence and Bonham's son would kick ass. The only real downside is JB is the one who help the band together towards the end.... but hey, no real complaints here if they reunite! I saw Robert Plant play last summer, and even that was mind blowing. He of course played the given songs... Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love, etc. which was a slight bother to me (play something we can't hear on the radio!) but it was still very awesome and well worth the trip.

Being a HUGE Zep fan, I of course have a favorite musical moment with them! (to touch on the subject). It was just after moving to Northern California. I had just taken a shower and went and laid on my bed. It was cloudy outside and raining ever so softly, almost a mist. As I settled into the bed to just watch the rain for a bit (I'm from the desert, I was loving it) I noticed playing quietly was none other than the Rain Song. I grabbed the remote and turned it up, then just laid there watching the rain and absorbing the moment. The bonus is for those few awesome moments, no planes flew over my apartment which lies right on the final approach to San Jose International. I don't think 30 seconds goes by without some big ass plane tearing up the sky, but for some reason not a single plane passed for about 10 minutes.
It's all fun and until someone loses an eye... then it's just a game to find the eye
