Cashmanimal 0 #1 September 13, 2007 I pointed out last night that I had been wearing the same earring for almost a year and had never once removed it. This morning when I was getting ready, I noticed it had fallen out, and I can't find it. Also, my roommate pointed out this weekend how he loved his ipod, which is a second generation ipod if I am not mistaken. it is really "old." Well, I should have said 'was,' because he dropped and broke it this morning. Anybody else have an amusing jinx story? (this got us thinking how this kinda crap happens to us all the time)It's all fun and until someone loses an eye... then it's just a game to find the eye

lippy 918 #3 September 13, 2007 One Friday night after work we were drinking some beers and I was telling another Canadian that I hadn't even been in a hospital since I moved to the US. First jump Saturday I ROYALLY fucked up a landing and got my dumb ass taken straight to one I got nuthin

Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
419gotaminute 0 #5 September 14, 2007 I made the comment to my rigger and teammate that I had no idea what color my reserve was... The next jump I found out its white, with a green free bag that landed in 5 foot tall green grass. I decided I'm going to make white free bags and sell them to Russians
ACMESkydiver 0 #6 September 14, 2007 A couple of pretty crappy ones... I was a new student and terrified of a malfunction (like everyone is). I was working on some RW stuff for my A with one of my instructors. We were dirt diving, and I had to ask him "I'm freaked out about having to cut away. Have you ever had to?" He rolled his creeper over to the wood beams of the hangar, and said "No chops is over 800 jumps," and knocked on wood. He had a cutaway after I left. He died a year later...I still miss him. Then even worse...a friend and I were trying to help out one of my other instructors, as he was on a really quick turn around between loads for his students. We said we'd pack for him while he was talking with his student. We kept joking with him saying, "Remember your EP's"...Good ol' Todd overheard us and said, "Seriously, you guys shouldn't ever joke about that." Yeah we didn't just pack him a malfunction -we packed him 2 malfunctions on his main. He cleared the easy one (toggle fire from brakeline being stowed improperly) and landed the second (step-through). He walked in carrying his canopy and said, "You guys packed me a malfunction" -We laughed, thinking he was joking because he was carrying his main and not reserve. He plugged his video into the TV, and showed us the brakeline fire (he was on a pretty small canopy )...and the step through. I almost cried. I felt like shit, and I've never touched anyone else's main since... ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
