nicodecker 0 #1 June 19, 2006 I'm currently flying a old Javelin container with non-adjustable straps (can only tighten) and little padding on the leg straps. Openings are fine but doing tight turns really cuts into my legs. Is it possible to replace the padding or add padding to the straps or even replace the whole harness with a more comfortable ring-setup?
councilman24 37 #2 June 19, 2006 A new harness is $650. See http://www.sunpath.com Not worth it on an old rig. Leg pad replacement is listed at $95. The parts might be less for your local rigger to do the work. But, I suspect a local rigger may have come up with supplemental pads sometime in the past. Many people have. I'd start with the new pads from Sunpath and go from there.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
NewGuy2005 53 #3 June 20, 2006 Call the manufacturer and ask them if they have any slip over leg pads. I am having the same problem and called Altico today. Mike spent about a half hour with me on the phone. He maded them up today and they are already on the way.

Mike's a good guy to deal with, I recently worked with him on a "special" project and he was constantly taking calls from customers and filling the orders but all the while kept focused on the project. Now that's customer service!!! Mick.
teason 0 #5 June 20, 2006 It's possible that the gear is too small for you. I had a friend that bought a used Jav that was too small and no amount of padding helped him. He even had to take time off jumping to heal. Before you buy extra padding, have the gear checked for size by a rigger.I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. I've just spoken to Thomas Sports and they said about 200 pounds for a new custom-measured harness with addtional chest rings. Just throwing that out here for any UK guys in the same situation.
