Also, I have a question. Should my chest strap try to decapitate me when my chute opens? I dont remember that from previous jumps. I crushed my windpipe and it is very hard to swallow now.

possibly legs straps too loose or real bad harness fit, even if the legs straps are adjusted properly on the ground when you sit in the plane it is possible for them to loosen up, a common problem I see with tandems is body shape - especially with women

with someone that has wide hips and (trying to be nice) excess fat, the legs straps can be more parallel to the ground rather than coming up at about a 45 degree angle, when the canopy opens and they are suspended, the straps will be at about 45 degrees and the chest strap will rise significantly

talk to your instructors they are your best resource
Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.

I'm not sure but do I see adjustable main lift webs?
I hate those things. Good for DZOs but potential hell on wheels for students jumping them. Necks have been broken by them.

In a nutshell, NO chest straps should not try to decapitate you. Gear fit or adjustable MLWs - either one sucks.
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

Skydive Dallas?

out of respect for the DZ, I refuse to answer, because it could be misconstrued as an accusation or appear that I am trying to place blame or try to say the DZ X is 'unsafe'. The guys I jump with are AWESOME, and I LOVE the DZ. B| They are always very concerned for my safety and the DZ I jump at works out of an overabundance of caution. They are very safety minded there and I appreciate them letting me finally jump even with the loose rig (or overly 'tall' rig I should say), which was a minor height adjustment issue.

If anything, I want to learn a lesson from this and nothing more.

I had a blast and I am going to do it again. and again. and again.

Dunno what adjustable main lift webs are. just takeing a wild ass guess I would say it is the cargo strap stuff that connects the leg part of the harness to the chest part of the harness?

It still hurts to swallow, talk and breathe today. That chest strap did a number on my adams apple when the snatch force snapped my head forward right into the chest strap. I learned a valuable lesson about who is in charge of my rig and I should be more careful inspecting my gear for proper fit. If I had my own rig it would always fit (wistful sigh). I had no idea it didn't fit or needed adjustment, it felt exactly like every other rig I have ever jumped and they guys were very careful in how they adjusted it for me. I am still a newbie, but I will be doing some serious remedial training on gear fit next time I go to the DZ (right now, as a matter of fact) ;)

Here is the video of the skydive. I am really proud of my AFF Level 1. Check it out:
