cheese curds

Recommended Posts

If they are purchased locally and need to be kept for a couple of days, room temperature, rather than refrigeration, does something to preserve the flavor and "squeak." Sonically impaired curds can sometimes have the "squeak" restored by no more than a couple of seconds in a microwave oven.

GAWD I love those things.... I used to keep my 40' boat at Garabaldi.. only 5 miles from the Tillimook Cheese factory......

They are SOOOOO good when they come right out of the tray as they are cut up.....

I so need to experience a cheese curd.

A friend from Wisconsin told me about them.

The challenge is...I don't believe they make noise.

I have no idea what the hell CHEESE CURDS
are.

Is it cheese or something else that is just named after cheese? What does squeak have to do with it...?

You know the trays you can buy that have cut up beef sticks and, usually, chedder and pepper jack cheese cubes? Well cheese curds are like odd shaped chedder cheese cubes and are delicous.

Dang your post just made me hungry. :P

It's made from curds of cheddar cheese.

The really fresh ones squeak against your teeth when you bite them. Mostly, the squeak is from the texture of the curd.

I'm sure others can explain it better.;)

Why don't you just go to the police station in a red clown suit and let everybody know what we're doing here?

I have a phobia for moobs. Thanks, youknowwhoyouare.

They are a cheesy snack like chips or something... so I'm told. Not actual cheese.

Never heard of a cheese curd snack but in Wisconsin cheese curds are what I described above. Sometimes you can order them at bars and they bread and deep fry 'em. Served w/ marinara.
