turtlespeed 226 #1 September 21, 2007 . . . I stopped into Starfucks. I know - I know - but I was in a hurry and needed several shots of expresso. So, here's what happened: I walk in and hear some shpeil about donating to charity, which I took offence to. (I was in a confrontational mood anyway) And the fun begins. So I ordered some items from the food refer, and 2 large, no - not venti, LARGE, (It was getting fun here, because the attendant was in a confrontational mood too.), He said Venti, I said, no - I don't want a VENTI, I want a friggin LARGE. 4 more exchanges and the manager comes out. "Can I help you, I said, yes, I would like a Large, he said "A Venti, I said, "No, a LARGE" he said, "No Problem, one Venti coming up - I smiled - this guy got the game. So as I'm waiting for my order to be finished - I hear this guy - the first guy - start in on the charity rant, not simply "Would you like to . . . blah blah blah, but "You should really consider donating to "Blah Blah Blah, and when she refused, he got rather snippy and gave some really big sob story that was 180 degrees different from what he tried to sell to the last guy, (So I was calling Bull Shit) and she should really reconsider, she said "No thank you". You could see the anger in this guys face and i though - YES! I'm next! So, I stroll on up and before he even punches in any buttons, I look him square in the eye and say, "If you try to solicit me for any charity, any whatsoever, I'll not pay for my order." Oh, you can see the conflict . . . This guys eyes actually started to turn redder as you looked at him. Hee hee. So, I was impressed that he didn't say a word, and was just about to thank him for being a good sport when, right as he ran the credit card, he started in with the donation thing, I said "Not only no, but HELL NO! You couldn't PAY me to donate to that charity! Further more I want a complete refund for my order, call your manager right now." He replied, "I will not call the manager."WRONG ANSWER - I simply went behind the counter, right past everyone, to his office and asked him to come deal with his employee. I didn't know anyone could blush that hard. I explained to him, almost word for word what I have written here. His head was shaking the whole time. So, just as I thought I was going to get my refund without another argument, he said he couldn't give me one. I promptly callled my bank, and stopped payment on the charge, right in front of him. This Insensed the original clerk, who . . . it turns out - Over Charged me and donated to the charity. I asked the manager what the charge would be for what I ordered and he did the math and agreed that I was charged erroneously - I simply asked him how many times that happens . . . THEN it got interesting, this grown man started to cry, not just tears of frustration, but wailing, sobbing, stuttering breaths. And the manager consoled him and led him back in the office and sat him down. I asked the manager if he wanted to call the police or should I. He said he would. (I'll check back later today to see if it happened, and if not, I will.) So - I got in my truck and backed out . . . just in time to see the manager accept the employees apron and name tag . . . watched him walk out the door and kick the hell out of his car. . . Three times!!! I backed up and told him I could give him the name of a good body shop, if he needs it. I always want to be helpful.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

I'm sure the kid didn't want to ask you to donate to charity but was probably required to. He got screwed by a spineless manager, probably the same one that required him to ask for charity donations. You had to have been there. The employee is required to tend to the requests of the customer, right? I was very up front and very clear of what I wanted. If he could not comply, he should have said so - not try an underhanded and crimal act as he did. If he would have said that he was required to solicit me, then I would have handled things differently.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
