jdobleman 0 #1 September 22, 2007 HI all, this Thursday, September 27th, is the birthday of JP's twin daughters, Camille and Yvette. To make sure the girls don't think we've forgetten them, Byron folk are sending them individual birthday cards. We invite all of JP's other friends and "family" to do the same: PLEASE PM FOR ADDRESS blue skies, madjohn
pop 0 #2 September 22, 2007 Mods...please put the sticky thing on this post for a few days so it would stay at the top.7 ounce wonders, music and dogs that are not into beer
slotperfect 7 #3 September 22, 2007 You all need to QUIT posting the home address of this family! Posting someone else's personal info on an internet forum is a very bad idea! Sending JP's daughters a birthday card is a WONDERFUL idea . . . there has already been a post on the subject, which Mods removed the address from and included "PM me for the address."Arrive Safely John
SBS 0 #4 September 22, 2007 maybe if it was a sticky as requested multiple times it wouldn't happen again... hmmm???_____________ I'm not conceited...I'm just realistic about my awesomeness...
jtval 0 #5 September 22, 2007 It WAS a sticky 4 a while. at least I thought it was. That's still no reason to post personal info.I hope they find some comfort. My photos My Videos
slotperfect 7 #6 September 22, 2007 Sticky thread requests are not up to me in this forum - I have no Moderator privileges here. The repost is still no excuse for posting the home address.Arrive Safely John
PhreeZone 20 #7 September 22, 2007 This is not going to be a sticky, this post is already a duplicate of one that we have already had to get involved with to remove the address from already. Asking or even worse begging to have a thread be a sticky is pretty pointless. The team moderating here is pretty good about picking out what threads need to be sticky and what ones do not, we'll even discuss threads we are not sure about to get other opinions. Begging doesn't help your cause, asking nicely via PM's to a mod with a logical case for making it a sticky goes a long ways to getting your thread marked. Posting home addresses for anyone, even if they can be found online is frowned on in these forums. Posting the home address of childern is even worse and we will be removing them since there are just too many creepy people out there online. BIGUN 1,488 #11 September 23, 2007 This has to be the most dumbfuck thing I've ever seen. Two little girls who've lost their father and some numbnuts post their home address on a public forum. Yeah, I know I'm getting banned permanently, but maybe some other dumbfuck will think twice before making a dumbass move like that. There's a time for politically correct comments and there's other times when someone should just get a punch in the mouth... AggieDave 6 #14 September 23, 2007 QuoteSangiro made changes so this forum doesn't show up in Google searches So? Its still a public place and just because Google's webcrawlers don't crawl DZ.com like they used to, that doesn't mean that they won't start and they won't archive the forum's database with all the information in the future. Security through obscurity and special precautions if you're going to publicly publish anything. Literally anything on the internet should be considered publicly available due to a lack of a truly 100% secure system.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." jdobleman 0 #15 September 23, 2007 PhreeZone, thanks for making the mod. I haven't come across any threads about personal info here but I totally agree it's probably not a good idea. Numbnuts that I am, the idea of someone trolling DZ.com to find the addresses of young girls is too far whacked out beyond Stephen King for me to contemplate. MY focus was on making their first Birthday without their father maybe a little more bearable. So I will apologize to Corrine when I see her, and to all of you whose first reaction was "What the hell were you thinking Mad John?" I hope your second reaction was to send cards. Naive and getting older, Madjohn
