Gawain 0 #1 September 20, 2007 This isn't the biggest deal in the world, in fact it's a small problem of sorts. I simply don't know if this is a problem with either my router, Firefox, or my internet connection. When I power up my computer, I let it get everything started before I start opening programs (takes about a minute). When I open Firefox (despite being told I have a connection), it attempts to display my homepage (dz.com) only to time-out and tell me there was a problem. Then I'll punch up Yahoo! without a problem and click my "home" button to get to dz.com. This sequence of events leads me to believe that it's an issue with Firefox, as I've not seen this happen on the rare occasion I use IE, but I'm not 100% convinced of that...any other theories? So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! popsjumper 2 #2 September 20, 2007 Three mornings in a row - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - I got the same time-out error as you but this morning everything was cool. All three days the problem cleared itself at around 9:30 am. I'm also getting the old Error Code 900 quite a bit, not always but often enough, when I do any search from Yahoo (using Firefox). Ran 3 different anti-virus programs and found nothing out of sorts. Maybe I shouldn't have replied since I'm not a computer "ace". My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
matthewcline 0 #3 September 20, 2007 Are you supposed to be doing this in the "cave"?Mike Chafe (Ole PDT Guy) says it is a "fire fox interface issue". I think it is geekease for "I dunno". Gawain 0 #5 September 20, 2007 Quotehas firefox recently been updated, and are you running a firewall? Yes, Firefox has been updated recently, but this was occuring before the update. I am running ZoneAlarm, which has also recently updated, but again, this symptom predates that too. The hardware for networking is Netgear all around with a Westell DSL "modem".So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Gawain 0 #6 September 23, 2007 Not that anyone cares about my specific issue, but when I uninstalled Adobe Photo 2.3 (that accessory that comes with Adobe Reader 8), it cleared the issue up completely. Go figure...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
