PLFXpert 0 #1 October 1, 2007 I taught swimming in high school. I ran into some parents who recognized me from the two years I spent conditioning their son for stardom (apparently he went on to become a pretty fierce swimmer!). "Oh my gosh! That's so wonderful. How is little...?" "Hunter's great. He should be back any second. There he is...." I don't know why, but I was waiting for a six-year old. Instead I was greeted by a 16-year old. I'm 27. This is the age, I guess, where you're knocked over flat on your face a billion times by flying time. It was bad enough when I didn't know who the featured singer was on MTV on New Year's Eve past. But, seeing a 16-year I taught to swim, like yesterday? There is NO way that was 10 years ago. No way. That boy was an imposter! Where's little Hunter, damn it? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

ACMESkydiver 0 #6 October 1, 2007 I was just cleaning the office and found a picture of two huge blocks with our twin babies leaning on them...they read, "I'm 1!" Our daughter was sitting in a tiny little chair behind them. She still had such little hair that it was juuuust barely beginning to have the tiniest of a curl at the ends by her ears. We couldn't put anything but the tiniest of little barretts in her fine hair. She was 16 months old. >sigh<... alt=":)" data-emoticon="true" height="20" src="/uploads/emoticons/smile.png" srcset="/uploads/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20">Here's a pic of those babies!! Derick petting an aligator that the 'Reptile Man' brought to school -looks like his aid didn't even have to coax him into it! Joey was playing with my hat -taking it off, putting it back on...I can't find the 1 year old pic I was talking about. I'm pretty sure I haven't scanned it in anywhere yet anyhoo. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

PLFXpert 0 #8 October 1, 2007 Jaye! I would have that second one blown up, framed and on my wall somewhere. BEAUTIFUL! Billy and I are all about art that is personal. We have blown up photos framed on the wall from places we've been that mean something for whatever reason. I'm also into local artists' stuff, but... I would DEFINITELY frame that picture. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I may find a way to blow that one up and hang it somewhere...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
Slowfaller 0 #10 October 2, 2007 I like the name Hunter and it's my wife's maiden name so it'd be cool to name our son that if/when we have one. Random post i know. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
Baksteen 84 #11 October 2, 2007 I'm 27 as well, and I know the feeling.. I have been doing volunteers work with children for different organisations, for quite a while now. In fact, I had a fifteen-year jubilee with one of the foundations recently. In everyday life it all comes down to sixteen year olds whom I've never seen before running up to me all the time and with a big smile starting to talk about that time when I was their leader. Or one mother giving me a withering look when I asked her how her son was doing. As it turned out I had been standing right next to the offspring in question the entire afternoon. And finding yourself in a pub staring uncomfortably at your feet, surrounded by 18 year old girls who are drinking beer - and are legally allowed to, girls whom you remember needing help going to the toilet. ETA: Thanks, I'm really depressed now... And I'm sure this post will get longer as the day advances, and I remember more stuff."That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom
