bob.dino 1 #2 October 3, 2007 Probably served by one of the ad providers. There's a thread in Errors & Bug Reports on this topic. Might be worth adding this info to that thread.
skydemon2 0 #3 October 3, 2007 Good luck getting a answer on that, there is something wierd going on. DZ.com keeps popping my PCcillin warning. I tried to post about it and none of the mods or HH came forward and admitted anything was going on. One mod tried to tell me I had a virus.... lol I believe I figured out mine, I think it has to do with the adware they are using to get all these google ads to come up. Sure is annoying to have it pop up 10 -20 times eveytime I visit......Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone! I like to start my day off with a little Ray of Soulshine™!! I use PCcillin and have had only 2 warning comming here and both from the location and the ad it came from was what I wouldn't call a problem at all as many of these warnings are overreactive, One machine has is a clean install this week, another machine of mine has norton with XP and IE 7 , and never had any warning. I also have a third machine I use often with no antivirus what so ever other other then M/S patches (I scan it weekly via one of my other machines using it as a proof of concept) and have only had 2 minor infections on it in the past 6 months. so where have you been surfing ? to catch cootiesSO this one time at band camp..... skydemon2 0 #5 October 3, 2007 LOL Nowhere The fact is this is the only site that kicks it up and it is directly related to the spy/adware that is used by DZ.com and ADBRITE to generate these ads. Sometimes it goes off 5 or 6 times in a row. Yes it probably is over reactive as you say and yes it can be turned off in PCcillin but why should I ? Its a work computer and I have permission to come here but Im not allowed to turn off PCcillin, it needs to log every threat it perceives. I understand the risk (and I admit it is probably low, thats why I come back) I just hope everyone here is aware of the type of ad running programs that are being used here.
