Muenkel 0 #55 October 3, 2007 I have an update. First, thanks everyone for the encouraging replies and pms. And ACME, thanks for the phone call. You are a sweetie. And thanks for being patient with my slow talking. I saw my neurologist today. He's located at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center about 100 miles from my home. The local neuros are completely retarded, which is why I travel that far. He did a full exam and ran a bunch of tests. He did his own blood work and my Tegretol level was up from 4.3 to 4.6. The technical normal range is 4.0 to 10.0, so I'm definitely on a risky low side. He did not however raise my dosage today to 1000mg per day. I'll have a new blood test in 2 weeks and see what happens. So, I still have my little buffer zone before surgery is needed. This was comforting news. Now get this, on the day of my last concussion I went to my local ER. They did a CT Scan and told me everything was normal. Today, at Dartmouth they did a new CT Scan and it turns out my right cheek is fractured. It's very close to my eye, but fortunately didn't affect the eye. It will heal, so I don't have to be concerned about it. So, that's the scoop. I truly want to thank all of you who reached out to me when I needed it. I'm not freaking out as much as I was last night. _________________________________________ Chris

ACMESkydiver 0 #63 October 3, 2007 My pleasure...and really, you weren't talking that slow for a normal person. -For a New Yorker? Eh, mebbe... And you really did seem to be less 'groggy' sounding towards the end of our call...I think you were right. Once you were fully awake, your speech was getting much better. You poor man I did want to apologize when you first answered the phone I think I was right in the middle of "-and if you DON'T bring me chocolate, don't bother coming home, mister!! I'll change the locks I swear!" Poor Joe, poor Chris... Talking to you I totally forgot that I needed chocolate. Must be 'cause you're so sweet! Take care, sugar bear! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

Icon134 0 #65 October 3, 2007 Hey bud, Keep your chin up man... I've been real busy lately (and out of the office/out of pocket completely) I'll keep you in my thoughts/prayers. You are certainly justified in your fear... I know I wouldn't want anyone digging around in my brain. ScottLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... newyorker 0 #66 October 6, 2007 P.S. Saw your post on the Jacksonville crash back in August. I hope you know you stand corrected. His girlfriend never broke up with him because of multi-racial problems. Complete bullshit. I knew them both. I lived with them both. Had nothing to do with race or anything of the sort, so don't go judging what you don't know.
masterblaster72 0 #67 October 6, 2007 I'd be scared shitless too, and probably wouldn't handle the situation nearly as well as you do. You're stronger than you think. Best of luck to you, thinking good thoughts for you here in Philly. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
