Her solution? The woman took a hammer to a local payment center (via) and smashed a support rep's keyboard, monitor and telephone. "Have I got your attention now?" asked the woman, who was arrested for disorderly conduct. Shaw's problems with Comcast started when she wanted to upgrade her service. After missing an all-day service appointment, Comcast showed up two days later but left the job unfinished and the family unable to make outgoing calls. After several calls, a visit to Comcast and complaints to the local regulators, their service stopped working altogether. So Mona took a trip: "I smashed a keyboard, knocked over a monitor ... and I went to hit the telephone," Mona said. "I figured, 'Hey my telephone is screwed up, so is yours.'". . . "It's totally not like me to do stuff like this," she said. "But it is so irresponsible and so disrespectful [what they did]. I can't think of any company reacting that way. It's like they got you in their clutches and they'll do what they damn well please." Comcast issued a statement saying "We recognize that there is room for improvement and that even one bad customer experience is one too many." http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/75YearOld-Woman-Takes-Hammer-to-Comcast-Office-88272

mamajumps 0 #3 October 9, 2007 Maybe I should "copy-cat" her actions with brighthouse....... Oh and a tech finally showed up at my house and she said the problem is that the cable that was originally run to my house from the road is too small to handle all the data or whatever it is coming to my house... me thinks she just told me this to shut me up. I did get 3 weeks of credit from them tho. We'll see if its any better after Tuesday (if they show up) to run the bigger cable.....
skydivermom 0 #4 October 9, 2007 Yes, I have felt like that a time or two at the Post Office. Just recently, I took a package there to be mailed. I've done this many times, and they always tape it up for me and I only pay for postage. This particular time, he handed me a roll of tape, and waited until I had taped up my package before informing me that I had to buy the whole roll of tape . I asked, very nicely, why he didn't tell me this before I used the tape. He sighed, put his hands on his hips and basically told me I should have figured it out for myself. Well, maybe I should have put two and two together, but I certainly didn't appreciate the lack of professionalism on his part. I very quietly peeled the tape off of my package, handed him the roll of tape, and walked out. The money wasn't the issue, it was the quality, or lack thereof, of service. Now when I want to mail a package, I go to the independant mailing centers. I never have a problem there.Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:

The size of a cable has nothing to do with how much data will fit in it. FYI. If it is copper, you should be able to get nearly 10mbps and if it's fiber then the sky is the limit. They are working on transmitters that will send/receive 160gbps or about 2 dvds per second. What they told you was bullshit.
skydivermom 0 #9 October 9, 2007 We do have packing tape at home, but on that particular day, and as is often the case, I buy the gift I'm shipping, and then just mail it while I'm already out. Doesn't make sense to drive all the way home (I live in the boonies), tape up a the box, and then drive all the way back to the post office. It wasn't really about the supplies, it was about the lack of professionalism and customer service. I hate feeling like I'm a "bother" as a customer.Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:
